About The Role
EKFB is a joint venture that brings together international, market leading expertise from four leading civil engineering and construction companies: Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial and BAM Nuttall. All four partners have specialist expertise in the design, construction, operation, financing and maintenance of railway networks, including the construction of one of Europe’s latest high speed rail projects. We are seeking to recruit a Site Engineer to join our growing Small Dean Viaduct team. In this role you will be responsible on site for other junior engineers and assist in the construction operations.
You will be required to liaise with the Sub Agent and Section Foreman to allocate labour, plant and materials to carry out works activities to the required standards, programme and budget. You will be responsible for working with other team members of the setting‑out team and for the performance and development of the junior engineers, as well as identifying and resolving technical problems on site in liaison with the senior team and Sub‑Agent. Monitoring and coordinating subcontractors in the performance of their works, ensuring they are completed to the contractual requirements.
Ensuring that the team have all current information and resources required to carry out their duties, you will be required to assist with the production of programmes, progress reports, resource and cost plans and contribute to financial forecasting.
Responsibilities
* Liaise with Sub Agent and Section Foreman to allocate labour, plant and materials within programme and budget constraints.
* Work with setting‑out team to develop and maintain accurate projections and reports.
* Provide leadership and mentoring for junior engineers.
* Identify and resolve technical problems on site in consultation with senior team.
* Monitor and coordinate subcontractors to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
Qualifications
* HNC/Degree (Construction/Civil Engineering related) or equivalent.
* Working towards institute membership (ICE).
* Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of Site Engineering activities.
* Experience in heavy structures is essential.
* Own transport to attend site(s) in remote areas.
* Full driving licence required.
* Holder of CSCS White, White‑Yellow, Red‑Experienced, Black‑Manager or Gold‑Supervisor certification.
