Job Purpose: TEXO Recruitment are looking for an Engineering Officer of Watch (EOOW) for our external client who is a leading UK port business.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
* Holds an EOOW Certificate of Competency (or equivalent) and has hands‑on experience operating vessels with mechanical and hydraulic systems.
* Able to diagnose faults, identify practical solutions, and adapt quickly to varying systems and operational conditions.
* Willing and able to work across a variety of vessels, schedules, and projects, often in dynamic or challenging environments.
Responsibilities:
* Operate as part of a small, close‑knit crew, working alongside engineering trades and supervisors to ensure efficient and effective delivery of maintenance and repair tasks.
* Carry out routine servicing, diagnostics, and repair of mechanical and hydraulic components and systems.
* Conduct testing and commissioning of systems, either routinely or following maintenance work, to ensure full functionality and compliance.
* Adhere to all company procedures and marine safety regulations to ensure the safe operation and maintenance of workboat vessels.
* Maintain accurate records of system performance, defects, completed maintenance, and resource usage.
