An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Practice Educator to join the Emergency Department at Worthing Hospital, part of University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. The role supports the Lead Practice Development Nurse to ensure staffing and education programmes enhance clinical practice for both pre- and post-registered nurses, including overseas staff. This position is eligible for visa sponsorship under the UK Visas & Immigration Skilled Worker route, subject to UKVI requirements.
Responsibilities
* Audit and learn from sending individual feedback to staff regarding improvements in practice – Plan Do Review cycle.
* Plan and facilitate Study Days when required.
* Support online competency completion and move toward a paper‑light system.
* Plan new starter inductions.
* Deliver clinical education, including 1:1 shadowing to upskill junior staff.
* Conduct mini teaching sessions.
* Organise winter welfare activities.
* Assist student nurses and new RNS.
* Own a Study Day as lead educator.
* Provide monthly Basic Life Support (Adult & Paediatric) sessions.
* Maintain a visible presence on the shop floor.
* Model Trust values and deliver gold‑standard care.
Qualifications
* UK NMC registration (or overseas qualification with required sponsorship).
* Minimum of 1 year acute or emergency department experience.
* Evidence‑based teaching and learning skills.
