The successful candidate will be an outstanding teacher and leader with a firm commitment to achieving aspirational outcomes for all children. As a non - class based Deputy Headteacher this post offers a genuine opportunity to work in partnership with the Headteacher to develop and hone leadership qualities and skills required for headship. Our school: Is a 3 form entry primary school with 650 pupils on roll in 21 classes Is situated in the Copnor area of Portsmouth City Is within easy access of Southampton and Winchester and main train lines to London Has a large site for a city school and spread over two buildings (KS1, KS2) Has very good facilities which include 3 playgrounds, MUGA, field, new EYFS area, Grizedale Climber, Outdoor Gym Equipment, a trim trail, Nature Nook and dedicated car parking facilities Is welcoming and friendly We are looking for someone who is: Excellent in the classroom, with an outstanding ability to engage and enthuse children and has the skills to develop this in others Able to challenge, support and motivate all children and staff to achieve high standards A problem solver and prepared to think ‘out of the box’ Able to demonstrate substantial and proven senior leadership experience Naturally positive with a clear vision and passion for all phases of primary education An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills Committed to working with all stakeholders, particularly with parents and Governors Eager to take a full and active part in all aspects of our school community A loyal and honest person with a sense of humour!
