School IT Manager/Senior Technician

Whilst experience in an education setting would be useful, it is not essential. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate their ICT experience, resilience, and organisational skills. You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as a positive approach to working effectively with all members of the school community.
Experience Required:
Experience and proven efficiency in network infrastructures including monitoring solutions and CCTV.
Working knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS and RDS, HyperV, Microsoft Server, Veeam, MIS and Windows software.
The ability to prioritise, work flexibly and manage conflicting workloads and achieve deadlines.
Willingness and ability to liaise and communicate effectively with colleagues and external service providers
Duties:
To support management of all aspects of the schools administrative and curriculum networks, servers, email and security systems providing a safe efficient IT environment for staff.
To advise senior team on staff training requirements for core programmes.
To support the IT Technician to ensure they are sufficiently skilled for the smooth running of the IT systems.
To be aware of the responsibility for Health and Safety, Safeguarding and Welfare and that of others who may be affected by your actions or inactions.
Ensure all tickets are completed according to priority on their impact to teaching and learning and as quickly as possible.
.To support management of all aspects of the schools curriculum networks, servers, email and security systems providing a safe efficient IT environment for students
To support implementation of the schools ICT strategy in a safe and efficient ICT environment for staff and students.
To support and monitor the schools practices for data protection, internet use, e-mail, security and ICT resource management
To support implementation and monitor the schools procedures for managing and recording installations and configuration changes. Any maintenance is planned in advance and any disruption to availability of systems agreed with SLT
To ensure the preparation and maintenance of in-school policy manuals, user notes and how to guides.
To ensure that the network is operational during access hours and appropriate back-up protocols are implemented and tested.
To deliver the schools maintenance programme and support resolution of failures in hardware and software
To ensure all software is licensed and all updates are installed to ensure systems are secure and supported and SLT are informed of any issues.
To help set up security parameters and ensuring virus checks are implemented.
To support the installation of all new computer software as required, enabling the delivery of ICT to all operational areas.
To support internet access filtering, e-mail filtering and related monitoring systems.
