Pharmacy Distribution Facilitator

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Pharmacy Business & Distribution centre at UCLH as a pharmacy distribution facilitator.
This is a key role within a busy, high performing distribution service responsible for the safe, efficient and timely supply of medicines across UCLH sites and external customers. You will support the co‑ordination of distribution activities, supervise and line manage staff and help drive service improvements in a fast‑paced environment.
Working as part of a large multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in ensuring patients receive their medicines safely and on time, while maintaining high standards in line with Good Distribution Practice and MHRA regulated requirements.
We are looking for a highly motivated and organised individual with the ability to prioritise workload and who has previous experience of working in pharmacy or warehouse setting.
Main duties of the job
Key responsibilities include:
* Support the daily supervision of the distribution service to meet operational demands
* Co‑coordinate the receipt, storage, picking and checking and dispatch of medicines
* Ensure compliance with Good Distribution Practice (GDP) and MHRA standards
* To respond to queries and complaints immediately and adapt daily priorities accordingly
* Supervise staff and assist with training
* Assist with the investigation of stock discrepancies, incidents and customer complaints
* To efficiently use the pharmacy computer system to manage stock control and assist in the maintenance of accurate stock level
* Work collaboratively with pharmacy, procurement, transport and external customers
This job is based in a warehouse environment, not a hospital. You must be physically fit to be on your feet all day with the ability to undertake manual handling duties of 15-20kg daily.

Person Specification
Knowledge and Qualifications
* NVQ level 3 Pharmaceutical Sciences plus accredited underpinning knowledge, or equivalent experience within pharmacy/warehouse setting
* Good standard of written and spoken English
* Managing/Supervisory skills certificate achieved

* Previous manual handling experience and training
* Previous experience of stock take and audits
* Previous experience of supervising others
* Previous experience of training others
* Previous training on COSHH
* Previous experience of working with Flammable and Cytotoxic's
* Previous experience of recruitment and selection
* Previous experience of MHRA inspections
