Overview
This post offers a career anaesthetist a chance to gain further clinical experience within a highly regarded anaesthetic department that champions educational excellence, management, and quality improvement initiatives. The role is based at Ealing Hospital theatres and includes the opportunity to work across a wide range of surgical subspecialties, with potential exposure at Northwick Park and Central Middlesex Hospitals.
Responsibilities
* Provide anaesthesia for ASA 1–3 patients across elective and emergency upper & lower general surgery, orthopaedics/trauma, gynaecology, endoscopy and dental surgery.
* Participate in a dedicated 24/7 emergency/trauma theatre list, with weekday consultant cover.
* Support outreach services for ECT and DC cardioversions in the Coronary Care Unit.
* Develop educational, management and quality improvement initiatives, and enjoy four days per month dedicated to professional activity.
* Potentially work at the Northwick Park Hospital site to broaden case mix, including major head & neck, vascular, obstetrics, urology and major colorectal surgery.
Qualifications
* Minimum of 4 years’ broad experience in anaesthesia.
* Postgraduate qualification equivalent to FRCA (Royal College of Anaesthetists, UK).
* Experience providing anaesthesia for ASA 1–3 patients requiring a range of surgery.
* At least 6 months worked in the NHS, eligible to apply.
