Hours: 39 hours per week, 08:00‑17:00. One in three weekends on rota, with a 15% weekend allowance.
Salary: £29,009 – £35,015 per year, dependent on experience.

At Amey, we support His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) by providing safe, clean and efficient prisons, keeping 60 secure premises running smoothly.
What You Will Do
* Planned and preventative electrical maintenance, including relevant administrative duties.
* Actively fault‑find and problem‑solve electrical systems across the prison.
* Carry out like‑for‑like replacements and other electrical minor works, with inspections and tests carried out and results recorded according to BS7671.
* Ensure all electrical systems are safe, compliant and functioning effectively, contributing to a secure environment for staff and residents.
* Assist the responsible person and authorised person as requested.
* Ensure Health & Safety standards, risk assessments and safe systems of work are consistently implemented and followed across all appropriate work streams.
* Assist with escorting duties and other tasks as required.
What You Will Bring
* City & Guilds 2367 or 2357 Level 2 Electrical Installation work or equivalent.
* BS7671 18th Edition; 17th Edition acceptable with upskilling to 18th Edition.
* Good working knowledge of Health & Safety requirements.
* Good working knowledge of planned and preventative maintenance operations.
* Excellent organisational, time‑management and people skills.
* Experience working under pressure to tight deadlines.
* Ability to work at heights, independently and take initiative.
* Understanding of fire alarm and CCTV systems (desirable).
* Knowledge of Electrical Systems and Electrical at Work Regulations.
* Basic IT skills.
