At Turning Point, we support individuals with Learning Disabilities across England. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the daily living skills of our residents, while also gaining valuable experience and training to advance your career.
Where Will You Be Working?
Our supported living service is conveniently located just a 15-minute walk from Castleford Bus Station. Here, you will support a diverse group of individuals in their own homes and within the community, each with their own unique activities—from walking groups to karaoke!
Your role will involve providing person-centred support, helping individuals manage their homes, personal care, and access local community facilities. We tailor our services to promote independence, and while some clients may exhibit challenging behaviors, your support will be invaluable.
We utilize a digital social care record system to streamline daily tasks, allowing you to spend more quality time with the people you support. Some aspects of this role will involve lone working.
Shift Patterns
This is a 24-hour service, requiring flexibility to work a shift pattern that includes evenings, weekends, and bank holidays. As we focus on person-centred care, shift patterns will evolve based on the needs of those we support.
Your Responsibilities
This hands-on role means no two days will be the same! Your duties will include:
* Promoting the independence of the individuals we support
* Assisting with daily activities, including cleaning, cooking, and outings
* Organizing activities both at home and in the local community
* Helping individuals develop life skills and pursue personal interests
* Ensuring safety and health for those in your care
* Providing personal care as needed
* Assisting with manual handling when required
* Supporting medication management
* Maintaining accurate records and contributing to service monitoring

* A full driving license and access to a vehicle with business class insurance
