Here at 23 Hart Street we provide residential short breaks for children, aged 8 - 18 with a disability, Autism or complex needs. We provide the opportunity to develop and learn in an environment that hasits emphasis on fun.
We are a specially built home, enabling us to create the perfect environment to entertain, interact with, and provide for all of our young people's individual needs. We also love to be part of the community and regularly take trips out.
Working in our children's short break home means being part of a young person's day to day life. This means being there for the highest highs and the lowest lows. Our support workers are fulfilled by the Idea of affecting even the smallest positive changes to the young people. We celebrate the little things!.

You will get the chance to build close relationships with the young people and their families, supporting them to have their voice heard in all aspects of their life.
About this opportunity
As a Residential Support Worker, you will need to communicate and interact effectively with individuals at various levels, providing person centred support. Your responsibilities will include administering medication, providing personal care, and carrying out manual handling tasks. You will also be required to manage challenging situations, including those involving upset and distress and behaviour that challenges.
You should be able to work independently and as part of a team. You will be expected to act as a key worker for young people, maintaining both written and digital records as required. This role involves working weekends, bank holidays, and includes sleep-in duties at the home.
Who we are looking for…
We are looking for a person that can display a patient and resilient attitude, exceptional communication skills and who will work with compassion, positivity and bring some fun into this role.
Ideally you will already have a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent, and experience of working in a similar setting, however if you have the right attributes and a passion for working with Children, we may be able to offer full training where you will gain your qualification within 2 years of appointment.
A level of flexibility will be needed, within this role, to meet the needs of our shift patterns including weekends and holidays.
We need people who can be flexible and work well as part of a close and incredibly supportive team.
