Job overview
Calling all newly qualified and Band 5 dietitians! We seek an enthusiastic Band 5 Dietitian for our friendly team at University Hospitals Sussex, mainly based at Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton, with potential rotation at Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath. Both locations are well-connected and offer excellent facilities.
Rotations include cardiac, vascular, respiratory, and general medicine. You will also have outpatient clinics, patient talks, and staff training, gaining valuable experience.
You will join a respected team covering paediatrics, gastroenterology, renal, oncology, stroke, and critical care in a Teaching Trust with some of the newest hospital facilities in the UK.
Our Trust offers an excellent AHP Preceptorship Programme for new Band 5 staff, with regular supervision.
We welcome applications from soon-to-qualify UK graduates or experienced Band 5 practitioners seeking development.
Main duties of the job
1. Manage dietetic care for adult inpatients across various wards.
2. Conduct weekly outpatient clinics.
3. Deliver teaching and training sessions.
4. Train students.
5. Provide clinical cover for senior dietitians and shadow specialties as needed.

Manage a clinical caseload of adult patients, assessing and treating various medical and surgical conditions.
Run weekly general clinics.
Deliver talks to patient groups and clinical staff.
Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure effective dietetic services.

Person specification
Essential and Desirable Criteria
* Degree/MSc/PhD in Nutrition & Dietetics or about to qualify in the UK.
* HCPC registration or near completion.
* Caring experience outside NHS, such as in care homes or support work.
