The Role We are currently seeking dedicated Behaviour Support Assistants to work on a supply basis within our partner specialist provisions and alternative settings. This role involves supporting children and young people who may display challenging behaviour, require additional emotional support, or have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.You will work both on a 1:1 basis and with small groups, supporting pupils to engage with learning, regulate emotions, and develop positive relationships within school. A key part of the role will involve recognising triggers, supporting behaviour management strategies, and helping to create a calm and structured learning environment. You will work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to provide consistent support and act as a positive role model for pupils.A patient, resilient, and adaptable approach is essential, alongside a genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes. The School This specialist provision, based within the Kirklees area, supports pupils with a range of additional needs, including behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties. The setting provides a structured and supportive environment focused on helping pupils re-engage with education and develop confidence, resilience, and emotional regulation skills. Staff work collaboratively to ensure pupils receive consistent support and encouragement throughout their school day. Class sizes are small, allowing for strong relationships to be built between staff and pupils. The school is easily accessible via public transport and offers on-site parking.
