You'll play a pivotal role in shaping, optimising, and supporting their Azure environment, working within a collaborative IT team of seven. Platform Engineer Responsibilities
Contribute to Azure cloud migration initiatives and ongoing service optimisation, ensuring security best practices and cost efficiency.
Implement and manage Microsoft Azure infrastructure, Microsoft 365, Defender and Intune environments.
Provision and manage Windows devices, package and deploy software, and administer user identities using Microsoft tooling.
Provide technical support to IT Operations, acting as an escalation point for complex end-user and infrastructure issues.
Coordinate and oversee third-party suppliers to ensure successful delivery of agreed services.
Manage incidents, changes and service requests via JIRA Service Management.
Identify and remediate vulnerabilities, strengthening the organisation's overall cloud security posture.
Collaborate with Infrastructure & Operations leadership and Technical Architecture to optimise cloud performance and resilience.
Platform Engineer Requirements
Proven experience implementing and optimising Microsoft cloud technologies, particularly Azure Infrastructure.
Strong hands-on knowledge of Microsoft 365, Intune, Defender and identity management solutions.
Broad exposure to traditional IT infrastructure alongside modern cloud environments.
Experience supporting Azure migrations and cloud transformation initiatives.
Understanding of security best practice, vulnerability remediation and infrastructure hardening.
Ability to manage third-party suppliers and assess solutions objectively to ensure fit-for-purpose services.
Strong communication skills and the confidence to take ownership of technical decisions.
Flexibility for occasional UK site visits and out-of-hours support where required.
