Job Title - Workshop/Field Service Engineer
Job Description
The Field Service/Workshop Engineer (FSWE) will be responsible for meeting the service and repair needs of the customer’s equipment in both site and workshop environments located in the UK. Establish and maintain proper business relationships with customers and peers as well as performing necessary administrative duties as required and other activities as assigned.
The main job responsibilities and functions of the FSWE are listed below. The position may require additional duties/responsibilities that may not be outlined below, and specific functions are subject to change.
* Must have experience repairing, assembling and installing various types of rotating equipment such as centrifugal pumps, compressors, turbines, positive displacement pumps, gearboxes, motors etc.
* Basic troubleshooting, installation, maintenance and repair on own and other manufacturers’ equipment.
* Keeping up to date with administrative responsibilities such as maintaining customer service logs and internal service records in a timely manner.
* Maintaining daily communications with customers to ensure the job is going as planned or to resolve any issues that may arise.
* Maintaining tools and test equipment and ensuring they are properly calibrated.
* Follow Health, Environmental and Safety guidelines/requirements set by the company and customers.
* Identifying and participating in sales opportunities such as new maintenance activities/contracts and replenishment of spare parts.
Qualifications & Requirements
The following qualifications are the minimum requirements necessary to successfully perform this role. However, any equivalent combination of experience, education and training, which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities, would be acceptable, subject to any legal and/or regulatory requirements.
* College or High School qualifications and relevant experience in the servicing and installation of rotating equipment.
* Experience in interfacing with both internal team members and external customers as part of a solution‑based service process.
* Full valid driving licence and good driving record is required.
* Experience in troubleshooting and responding to customer concerns.
* Proficient level of computer skills including Google applications such as Gmail, Sheets, Docs etc.
* Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical issues in an easy‑to‑understand manner.
* Resourceful, with the ability to work independently.
* Ability to adapt to changing circumstances, ie. mobilise to site at short notice.
