Children Looked After
Location: North East
Pay rate: £35 per hour
We are looking for experienced and passionate Qualified Social Workers to join the Children Looked After Team. As part of this team for a local authority in the North East, you will work in a busy and supportive environment, assessing and working with service users and families, intervening where support is needed to provide earlier assistance. Working in accordance with social care legislation and local government requirements, and guided by the values and principles of social care, you will support the delivery of person-centred, safe, and effective social care services. Using your professional knowledge and experience, you will make assessments and decisions about the most appropriate interventions. Applying your significant Social Work experience and excellent communication skills, you will establish and maintain relationships with service users and other agencies to meet identified needs.
You will be committed to ensuring positive and sustainable outcomes of your interventions. Using best practices, you will strive to achieve the best outcomes for children. Most importantly, you will have a passion for supporting children and their families to thrive and flourish. Our priority is to protect the most vulnerable and to operate as efficiently as possible.
Ideal Candidate:
* Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England
* Experienced in working with children and families, including vulnerable groups
* Creative, flexible, and forward-thinking approach
* Knowledgeable of Child Protection legislation and issues
* Dedicated to continuous improvement for the best outcomes for children
* Excellent mediation and negotiation skills
* Skilled at building meaningful relationships with children and families
* Committed to providing high-quality services
* Experienced in working within multi-disciplinary, interagency teams
* 4+ years qualified experience
Role Responsibilities:
* Conduct comprehensive assessments of risks, protections, and social care needs
* Manage an agreed caseload
* Utilize specialist communication skills to achieve optimal outcomes
* Develop individual care plans respecting diversity and promoting dignity and empowerment
* Provide advice and support to unqualified staff and students for development
