Vehicle Trimmer, Upholsterer & Finisher
Role Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Automotive Trimmer, Upholsterer & Finisher to join our team.
Day to day responsibilities include production or refinishing of pre-stitched upholstered seats, and other interior items, as well as assisting the sewing department gluing and upholstering vehicle interior components such as seats and door cards.
The role is required to maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment. Protective personal equipment (PPE) will be provided, and full training will be provided on internal systems and procedures.
Experience and Skills
* Experience in trimming and finishing of upholstery components in an automotive or furniture environment preferred
* Strong understanding of upholstery materials and automotive interior construction.
* Proficiency with a variety of materials including leather, vinyl, fabric, foam, and other automotive-grade textiles
* High attention to detail and craftsmanship.
* Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
* Communication, numeracy, and literacy skills required to understand orders, measuring and installation needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist with business meeting on time in full deliveries.
* Review works orders, check measurements/specifications, and pick correct components for production.
* Carry out production or repair and re-fabrication of upholstery and foam components (e.g. seat covers, door cards, arm rests, springs, mechanical adjusters).
* Identify and complete remedial works (e.g. heat-shrinking leather, pattern making, cutting, fabrication)
* Use correct tools, methods, and materials appropriate to the products being produced.
* Perform quality checks on completed pieces to ensure high standards are maintained.
* Maintain clean and organised work environment, manage own tools/consumables, and adhere to all safety protocols.
* Manage your own workflow based on priorities provided by your line manager.
Physical Requirements:
This role involves regular manual handling of materials (typically 16–25kg), as well as periods of sitting, standing, and repetitive hand use. Where reasonable, adjustments or assistance will be provided in line with health and safety obligations
Other Information
* Full Time working hours: 9 am –5 pm Monday to Friday with 30-minute unpaid lunch break
* Flexibility on start and finish times to match customer requirements and sudden changes in despatch requirements.

* 3 Month probation period.
* Holiday: 20 days pro-rata holiday entitlement (exclusive of public and bank holidays) of which 5 days are required to be set aside for the Christmas closure.

* Due to limited public transport links, applicants should ensure they are able to reliably travel to and from Rye Harbour.
