MBChB Senior Lecturer in Clinical Skills and Simulation - 0.2FTE

Chester Medical School is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and experienced Senior Lecturer in Clinical Skills and Simulation to contribute to the delivery and ongoing development of its MBChB Graduate Entry Medicine programme.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a newly established and expanding Medical School, delivering a contemporary four-year programme designed to equip graduates with the knowledge, skills, and professional competencies required for modern medical practice.

Role Summary

The postholder will contribute to the planning, delivery, and evaluation of teaching, learning, and assessment in clinical skills, communication, and simulation. Working under the direction of the Clinical Skills and Simulation Lead, the successful candidate will support the provision of high-quality, consistent teaching across campus and partner sites.

The role also involves contributing to the development and quality assurance of assessments, including Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs), and ensuring alignment with the standards set by the General Medical Council (GMC).

Key Responsibilities

* Deliver clinical skills teaching, simulation sessions, and practical workshops in accordance with the MBChB curriculum
* Contribute to the design and administration of assessments, including OSCEs and workplace-based assessments
* Support the development and review of teaching materials to ensure they are current, evidence-based, and aligned with programme outcomes
* Provide academic guidance and pastoral support to students
* Participate in quality assurance and enhancement activities, including peer review and student feedback processes
* Work collaboratively with academic colleagues, clinical educators, and external partners to ensure effective delivery of teaching and assessment
* Contribute to curriculum development and ongoing programme evaluation
* Engage in relevant research and scholarly activity in line with the School's strategic priorities

About the Programme

The MBChB Graduate Entry Medicine programme commenced in September 2024 and is delivered through a case-based learning model, developed in collaboration with an established UK medical school partner. Teaching is supported by a purpose-built clinical skills, simulation, and anatomy facility, alongside a wide network of clinical placement providers across hospital and community settings.
