Job Title: Supply Chain Materials ManagerLocation: Portsmouth Naval Base. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular roleSalary: Up to £50,000 dependent on skills and experienceWhat you’ll be doing:Develop and apply processes to support one or multiple projects to identify, source and manage materialsWork collaboratively ensure the scope of the material requirement is clear and agreed before procurement actions beginSupport Programmes to allow us to left shift our demand requirements to better understand our position to procure materials earlierIdentify and implement an improved way of managing materials across the ProgrammesAssist the Asset Management Procurement team with the request for quote process as necessaryWork with the Royal Navy Logisticians to provide the best support solutions available to meet their needs so they can accurately report the material availability statistics associated with maintenance periodsDevelop relationships with end user community in order to understand the most effective transfer of information to benefit their needsRecommend alternative strategies / plans where benefit can be gainedDevelop effective method of tracking the materials from cradle to graveYour skills and experiences:Materials management ideally within the Defence SectorStakeholder Management across a range of customers and peersPrevious knowledge/experience of collating data from several sources in order to transform the data into information that benefits the customerCollaboration with other areas both within and outside of Supply Chain functional area and a grasp of Inventory Management, Maintenance and Planning requirementsHave knowledge of process improvement techniques aimed at driving efficiencies in servicesBenefits:As well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts – you may also be eligible for an annual incentive.The Asset Management Supply Chain Team:The Asset Management Supply Chain team exist to ensure maximum availability of materials required for maintenance periods supporting Royal Navy vessels in Portsmouth Naval Base.
