About Made Thought

Made Thought is an award-winning international design studio that imagines, creates and implements compelling strategies, brand identities and communications that inspire change and innovation.

With a team of 80 across London and New York, we have built a studio of intentionally diverse creativity, known for deep strategic thinking, iconic visual style and obsessive attention to detail. Our people include thinkers and designers, makers and crafters, writers and filmmakers, digital wizards, opinion formers and social connectors.

We collaborate with cutting-edge and leading brands of tomorrow, including Adidas, Feeld, MoMA, Pinterest, Stella McCartney and Chandon. Our purpose is to use the currency of creativity to deliver change for brands and the world in which they operate—whether to culturally move a brand forward, add commercial value, or help a brand think deeply about its place in the world and its responsibility to the planet.

Beyond client work, we expand our own creative output to have impact in popular culture. We've released three issues of
The Journal to Think
, a London pop-up store, and are part of
The New Standard
(with Map Project Office and Universal Design Studio)—a collective that connects brand, spatial, industrial and digital design into one creative ecosystem. Recently, we launched our inaugural magazine exploring the power of creativity to disrupt the status quo.

Role Outline & Expectations

Senior Designers focus on creative excellence, knowledge and expertise across all phases of the design process. They bring strong conceptual, creative and communication skills, combining expert craft with thoughtful, strategic outcomes. Their skills extend beyond graphic design to encompass digital, art direction and strategic thinking. As management figures and role models for junior creatives, they lead by example, inspiring others through expertly crafted work, time management, ownership and clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

* Work closely with design leaders and strategic leads to create compelling creative possibilities, showing autonomy from concept to delivery (including presentation and narrative).
* Input into and inform the strategic approach, using cultural insight from within and beyond the category.
* Think holistically about creative solutions, not just the visual outcome, and communicate this clearly to the team.
* Deliver intelligent, thought-provoking, innovative creative solutions with a strong conceptual point of view.
* Be accountable for artwork sign-off.
* Own and ensure timely delivery of all creative work, upholding the studio's standards.
* Collaborate with Project Managers and Design Directors to review project time allocations, ensuring resources are identified and planned effectively.
* Manage the day-to-day and long-term career growth of designers, providing clear developmental feedback and support.
* Work alongside the Creative Resource Manager and HR to recruit new design talent, lead interviews and guide immersion programmes for new hires.

Skills & Experience

* Strong management experience to guide, nurture and inspire junior team members, ensuring alignment and excellence.
* Confidence in delegating responsibility, giving autonomy while ensuring efficiency and focus.
* Professional and responsive handling of client feedback, exceeding expectations.
* Ability to cultivate strong partnerships with Project Managers, ensuring transparency during the design process.
* Commercial acumen, working with Finance to deliver projects to scope, time and budget.
* Confidence in leading engaging and eloquent client presentations.
* Clear articulation of ideas verbally, in writing and through creative methods.
* Insight, opinions and broad cultural perspective to positively affect creative outcomes.
* Ability to multitask across multiple workstreams.
