Smith & Wardle is a growing financial planning firm, and we’re looking for an experienced IFA administrator to help us keep pace with a busy pipeline. This is a remote, temporary role – and we’re especially keen to hear from people who’ve spent years doing this work and are now semi-retired, between permanent roles, or just looking for something flexible that plays to their strengths.


What you’ll be doing


Keying transactions into platform provider websites – accurately, efficiently and without needing someone looking over your shoulder. New business applications, top-ups, switches, withdrawals, transfers, the usual mix. You’ll be working across Aviva, Prudential, Quilter and Transact day to day, so deep, hands-on experience with all four is essential. You know the quirks of each platform, you know where things tend to go wrong, and you know how to get them right first time.


Our workflow runs through Intelliflo Intelligent Office (iO), so you’ll need to be thoroughly at home in it – cases, tasks, client records, the lot. You’ll work closely with our advisers and paraplanners, picking up cases and processing them end to end. We’re not looking to train anyone up on the basics – we need someone who can hit the ground running from day one.


What we’re looking for


Several years’ experience as an IFA administrator in a UK advice firm, with genuine depth on Aviva, Prudential, Quilter and Transact, and solid working experience of Intelliflo iO. Beyond that, you’re someone who:

• Takes pride in getting the details right – accurate keying, clean audit trails, no loose ends

• Works well independently and doesn’t need hand-holding to stay on top of a caseload

• Communicates clearly with advisers and providers when something needs chasing or flagging

• Has an unrestricted right to work in the UK

What we offer


Fully remote, anywhere in the UK – though if you’re near Hitchin in Hertfordshire and fancy working from our office some or all of the time, that works too. Hours are flexible – up to full time if you want them, part time if that suits you better. This is a temporary role with an immediate start for the right person. Day rate negotiable based on experience.
