Job Title: Registered Nurse - Twilight Shifts

Reporting To: Head of IPU

Accountable to: Patient Services Director

Responsible for: Working as one of the multidisciplinary specialist palliative care team in the provision of a co-ordinated and comprehensive service to inpatients, their families and carers. This will be achieved through the provision of specialist palliative care interventions based on comprehensive holistic assessment, agreement of goal focused care planning, education and support to patients, families and carers. In conjunction with the Head of IPU, support the development of clinical practice on the inpatient unit through the planning, implementation and evaluation of service development which meets the needs of the multidisciplinary team.

Hours: Part Time hours – 19.25 hours per week working flexibly across the week including weekends.

Shifts: 18:30 to 12:00 hours

Location: Aylesford, Kent

Salary: FTE Salary £33,804.50 based on 37.5 hours

Plus our Shift Allowance Scheme which includes enhanced rates for weekend and bank holiday shifts.

Closing Date: 28th September 2025 – however we reserve the right to close the vacancy earlier, should we get a strong calibre of candidates.

We are seeking two experienced Registered Nurses with a passion for palliative care to join our team, to cover the twilight shifts within our IPU department. If you want the time to give compassionate patient centred care as part of a small multidisciplinary team this could be the role for you.

Essential Criteria for the Role

· Registered General Nurse

· Proven commitment to continuous personal development

· Proven achievement in quality improvement

· Experience working in a palliative care setting

· Knowledge of symptom management, end of life care and recognizing palliative care emergencies

· Knowledge of the key CQC standards

About our Team

Colleagues on the Inpatient Unit consist of a multi- disciplinary team which includes nurses, healthcare assistants, nursing associates, clinical administrators, doctors, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, housekeeping and volunteers.

This team works with the wider Hospice MDT to provide person-centered, holistic care and support for patients and their loved ones.
