Protocol Education is working with a thriving and oversubscribed secondary school in Manchester to recruit a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their dedicated team on a full-time, permanent, term-time only basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities in mainstream classes. The school has a diverse community of pupils aged 3–18 and is proud of its inclusive ethos and commitment to achievement for all.
Salary
This role sits within the Teaching and Learning Job Family, Pay Band 2 (Vocational).
* Starting salary (FTE): £24,921 per annum
* Actual salary: £21,504 per annum (pro-rata, term time only)
* Paid evenly over 12 months, including during school holidays.
The role
As an LSA, you’ll work closely with teaching staff to support pupils with SEND, helping them thrive in lessons and beyond. We’re looking for someone who is patient, caring, and confident in working with young people, parents, and staff.
Key requirements:
* Experience supporting children with SEND
* Level 3 qualification in a relevant field (or willingness to complete a Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship)
* Strong numeracy, literacy, and ICT skills
* A team player with excellent communication skills and natural authority
