About the Service – Family Connect

About Family Connect

Family Connect launched on 3 March 2025, replacing Warwickshire’s Children and Families Front Door as part of the Families First transformation programme. It provides a single, consistent point of contact for all safeguarding-related enquiries and referrals for children and young people living in Warwickshire.

Family Connect is designed to ensure that children and families receive the right help at the right time. Through high-quality, purposeful and relational conversations with professionals and families, the service provides information, advice and guidance, enabling proportionate and timely decision-making and ensuring children are directed to the most appropriate support.

The service brings together Children’s Social Care, information and advice services, and key partner agencies within two closely linked hubs:

5. Triage Hub
6. Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) – a partnership including Warwickshire County Council, Warwickshire Police, the NHS and other key agencies such as Education and Probation.

This is an office-based role, with the potential for some home working following completion of induction. There is no direct face-to-face work with children and families; however, the role involves providing practice guidance and support to Social Workers and Child and Family Advisors across the service.

About the Role

We are excited to be recruiting a permanent 18.5 hours part time Consultant Social Worker to join our dynamic Family Connect team, providing countywide coverage with an office base in Warwick. This is a pivotal senior practitioner role, well suited to an experienced social worker who can model best practice, provide professional leadership and support the development of others.

As a Consultant Social Worker, you will:

7. Act as a role model for high-quality, reflective and ethical safeguarding practice in line with the Warwickshire Practice Framework
8. Provide mentoring, coaching and specialist practice guidance to Social Workers and Child and Family Advisors
9. Demonstrate a strong commitment to improving outcomes for children and families through restorative, strengths-based and relationship-led social work practice
10. Support day-to-day operational activity, including:
11. Providing management oversight and screening direction
12. Allocating and authorising work
13. Escalating safeguarding concerns to the Multi-Agency Child Protection Team (MACPT) for threshold decisions and strategy discussions
14. Facilitate group supervision and targeted one-to-one sessions that promote reflection, learning, accountability and professional development
15. Apply a strengths-based and relational understanding of risk, safe uncertainty and risk management, recognising the complexity of children’s lived experiences and working restoratively with families to safeguard children during times of crisis

This role offers excellent preparation for future management progression, with meaningful exposure to leadership, decision-making and supervision within a Families First model of practice.
