About the role
Bury Complex Safeguarding Team is recruiting a Complex Safeguarding Social Worker focused on supporting young people at risk of Child Exploitation. The team is co-located with partner agencies at Bury Police Station and values challenge with strong support systems.
The role involves direct work with young people, mainly individually, to build skills, knowledge, and confidence to exit exploitative situations. Work will be tailored to individual needs, emphasizing relationship-building, strengths-based assessment, and risk response.
Ideal candidates will have experience in safeguarding, be child-centred, and able to work in partnership with agencies. Training in child exploitation, trafficking, and related areas will be provided. Experience with frameworks like the National Referral Mechanism is advantageous.
The team comprises social workers, family support workers, a nurse, and a psychotherapist, working alongside police units for effective multi-agency collaboration.

The team is based at Bury Police Station, requiring enhanced police vetting. It includes a manager, assistant manager, social workers, family support workers, a nurse, and a psychotherapist, working closely with police detective units and other agencies.
