We are thrilled to invite you to apply for the Theatre Technician Apprentice position with the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC). Join our highly experienced technical team in Stratford-upon-Avon and gain hands-on experience across four essential backstage areas: Lighting, Sound, Stage & Props, and Automation. Your Journey as an Apprentice
As an RSC apprentice, you will embark on a 2-year program designed to develop your technical skills through a blend of work-based learning and coursework. You will work towards achieving a Level 3 Creative Venue Technician apprenticeship, equipping you with the knowledge and experience needed to excel in the industry.
What Will You Be Doing?
* Gain hands-on experience in Lighting, Sound, Stage & Props, and Automation.
* Train and work in each department, building core technical knowledge.
* Specialize in one area during the final six months of your apprenticeship.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
* No degree, HND, or postgraduate qualification.
* No extensive professional backstage experience in theatre.
* Must have lived in the UK or EEA for the last 3 years.
* Be 18 years old or over on the start date.
* Self-motivated with a keen interest in theatre or live events.

This is a full-time, fixed-term contract for the duration of the 2-year apprenticeship, requiring 40 hours of work per week, including evenings and weekends. You will also participate in off-the-job training one day a week with your training provider.
