Job Overview
An SEN school in Lewisham is looking for an Autism Support Worker to start after the half term. This is a long‑term, full‑time position that will run for the remainder of the academic year and into the next academic year. You will work with young people across KS3:4 in the classroom to ensure they are meeting their learning goals and supporting pupils on a 1:1 or classroom basis with their motivation and learning.
Key Responsibilities
* Support pupils in classroom activities to achieve learning objectives.
* Assist students to develop independence and lifelong learning skills.
* Work closely with teachers to implement individualized support plans.
* Engage with pupils in a patient, calm and engaging manner.
* Build rapport with individual pupils and maintain accurate records.
Requirements & Qualifications
* Experience as an Autism support worker in an SEN school is desirable but not essential.
* Passion for helping students with SEN needs.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work within a multi‑professional team.
* Registered DBS or willingness to undertake a new DBS application.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
