What you will do: Undertake and oversee complex assessments under Section 17 and Section 47 of the Children Act 1989, ensuring clear analysis of risk and need within statutory timescales. Lead safeguarding enquiries, including strategy discussions and multi-agency decision-making with Police, Health, and partner agencies. Provide mentoring, guidance, and informal supervision to Social Workers and ASYE staff, fostering high standards of practice. Screen referrals and support threshold decisions within the duty function, ensuring appropriate and proportionate intervention. Prepare high-quality reports for legal planning meetings and court proceedings, contributing to Public Law Outline processes where required. Support service delivery within a fast-paced duty environment, adeptly managing competing priorities and responding to urgent safeguarding concerns. Contribute to audit, quality assurance, and service improvement activity in line with Ofsted expectations. Person Specification: Qualifications: Degree in Social Work (BA/MA or equivalent). Significant post-qualifying experience within statutory children's social care. Practice Educator or equivalent (desirable). Registration & Compliance: Registered with Social Work England. Strong working knowledge of the Children Act 1989/2004, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and statutory assessment frameworks.
