Background to the role
Due to significant growth in our projects across various sectors, Risktec is seeking experienced safety engineering professionals to support existing projects and drive further business growth. We welcome applicants with experience in high-hazard industries, particularly in rail, but also with backgrounds in nuclear, clean energy, oil & gas, who are willing to transfer their skills to the rail sector.
This role is ideally based in our Derby or London offices, but we are open to applicants from other locations. Flexible and hybrid working arrangements are available.
Requirements
* Proven experience in producing safety engineering deliverables, utilizing both qualitative and quantitative safety engineering tools and techniques throughout the project lifecycle in the rail industry.
* Some familiarity with CSM-RA and its processes.
* Ability to support project delivery within your expertise, ensuring adherence to budgets, timelines, and quality standards.
* Willingness to work on multiple projects across various technologies, including rolling stock, signalling, and infrastructure.
* Ability to collaborate with TV Rheinland's global rail teams to bid for and deliver major international projects.
* Knowledge of current UK safety legislation and project delivery processes in high-hazard industries.
* Commitment to continuously enhancing your technical knowledge and expanding your expertise in the railway industry.
* Degree-level education (or equivalent) in a science or engineering discipline, or equivalent academic qualifications.
* Professional accreditation or membership (e.g., CEng) is desirable but not essential, or you may be on a path toward such recognition.
* Fluency in spoken and written English.
