Opportunities and Events Administrative Support

About The Role

The Careers, Employability and Placements service in Student Life is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic opportunities and events administrative support assistant to work with students, employers and departments to make a real impact.

The Opportunities and Events Administration Support role is highly rewarding and includes working with students, employers, placement providers and a range of academic and professional service colleagues. Alongside Careers, Employability and Placements staff, this busy and varied role will involve delivery and support across several key activities including:

The organisation of a schedule of employability and placement events and activities for students.

Supporting the promotion of employability and placement opportunities to students and alumni, via a variety of platforms including social media, email, Live Chat and face to face.

Sourcing placement and general employability and placement opportunities and regularly updating student communication channels. This will include internships, projects, networking events, trips and other employability relevant opportunities.

Providing comprehensive administrative support to the Careers and Employability Team, maintaining and developing key administrative systems and processes to help with the effective delivery of wider employability initiatives.

Acting as a contact point for employers and students.

Forwarding and actioning communications in the team’s email inbox; booking appointments for employability advice sessions; assisting in the organisation of industrial engagement activities, such as site visits and employer talks.

Welsh Language Skills

The Welsh language level required for this role is Level 1 - A little. The role holder will be able to pronounce Welsh words, answer the phone in Welsh (good morning/afternoon) and use very basic everyday words and phrases (thank you, please etc.). Level 1 can be reached by completing a 1 hour course.
