Senior Planner Location: Dorset (with flexible working arrangements) Contract: Full-time, Permanent The Role An established town planning consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality planning advice and successful development outcomes is seeking a Senior Planner to join its team. You’ll work on a broad range of projects — from new homes and business space to renewable energy and countryside sites — helping clients navigate the full planning process from inception through to delivery. Key Responsibilities Build and maintain strong client and professional relationships, understanding client needs and motivations. Provide clear, high-quality planning advice and strategy across varied project types and geographies. Prepare written reports and professional planning submissions, including applications and appeals. Conduct due diligence, research, and analysis to inform planning strategy. Liaise and negotiate with planning officers throughout the decision-making process. Lead community engagement events and contribute to forums where required. Work independently on project delivery while collaborating within a supportive team environment. About You Chartered Town Planner or working towards RTPI membership. Planning experience gained in consultancy, local authority, developer/promoter or similar professional setting. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong IT literacy (e.g., MS Office). Confident, proactive and client-focused, with the ability to manage your own workload and take initiative. Full UK driving licence and access to a car.
