Clinical Team Lead Physiotherapist (Stroke and Complex Rehabilitation)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as a Clinical Team Lead Physiotherapist on Rutson Ward at the Friarage Hospital. This full-time Band 7 role is based within our stroke and complex rehabilitation service, working Monday to Friday, including Bank Holidays.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Physiotherapist with a passion for rehabilitation and leadership. As Clinical Team Lead, you will oversee a team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and Therapy Assistants, working within a highly supportive and collaborative multidisciplinary team that includes Nurses, Health Care Assistants, and a Consultant Therapist.
At the heart of this role is our commitment to truly patient-centred care. You will be instrumental in coordinating shared goal-setting with patientsdeveloping integrated treatment plans that all disciplines contribute to and work from. This ensures every interaction moves the patient forward, making every contact count.
You will provide expert physiotherapy assessment and treatment, contribute to service development, and support the ongoing training and development of your team. This is an excellent opportunity to influence care delivery and quality outcomes while growing in your own leadership journey.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for leading the Inpatient Rehab service, providing expert guidance, and ensuring high standards of patient care. The role requires someone who can work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to service development, ensuring a continuous improvement culture within the department. The role requires to work in a integrated model, assessing and treating patients with varying rehabilitation needs covering Stroke rehab and patients that have complex needs ensuring that every contact counts.

Knowledge & Skills
Essential criteria
1. Basic IT skills
2. Demonstrates analytical skills and judgement when dealing with the management of Stroke and complex rehab
3. Audit and Research experience
4. Theoretical knowledge and applied clinical practice in specialist area
5. Demonstrates extensive knowledge and experience within specialist area of rehab
6. Demonstrates detailed clinical reasoning skills
7. Evidence of taking a lead role in MDT working
8. Knowledge of relevant national guidelines and standards
Qualifications & Training
Essential criteria
9. To hold a Diploma or Degree in OT/Physio
10. Registered as fit to practice by professional body (HCPC)
11. Evidence of Post Graduate clinical training/ development in stroke rehab.
Experience
Essential criteria
12. Able to evidence senior leadership experience
13. Demonstrates an ability to prioritise and co-ordinate the workload of the team
14. Experience of working within stroke rehabilitation within the NHS
15. Experience in specialism at band 6 level including work as a Senior Physiotherapist
16. Evidence of relevant post graduate courses
17. Experience working as an autonomous practitioner at a band 6 level within the NHS
18. Demonstrates experience of supervision and teaching more staff, students and other members of the MDT
19. Experience of being a clinical specific educator
