What you’ll be doing
As a Light Commercial Vehicle Technician you will have the following accountabilities:
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of cars, light commercial vehicles (LCVs), and specialist vehicles to the highest technical standards and manufacturer specifications
* Deliver outstanding customer service, consistently exceeding expectations through clear communication, quality workmanship, and a professional attitude
* Adhere strictly to all company health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures, maintaining a safe and compliant working environment at all times
* Accurately complete all required paperwork, job cards, and digital records in a timely manner, ensuring full traceability and efficient workshop administration
What Success Looks Like
* Consistently high‑quality repairs with minimal comebacks and low vehicle off‑road (VOR) time
* Excellent first‑time MOT pass rates and zero valid customer complaints
* Efficient workflow with jobs completed on or ahead of schedule, contributing to high workshop productivity and strong customer satisfaction scores
* Exemplary safety record with zero accidents or incidents, plus proactive reporting of near‑misses and suggestions for continuous improvement
Who we’re looking for
Essential Criteria
* Relevant automotive qualification (e.g., City & Guilds Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair, NVQ equivalent, or demonstrable time‑served experience at the same level)
* Full UK driving licence (clean or with minimal points)
* Proven hands‑on experience in vehicle diagnostics using modern diagnostic equipment and tools
* Strong customer‑focused approach with the ability to communicate clearly and build trust with customers
* Solid understanding of Health & Safety practices in a workshop environment
* Basic IT literacy and confidence using workshop management systems and job cards
Desirable Criteria
* Experience or qualifications in electric and hybrid vehicle maintenance and repair (IMI Level 2/3 EV or manufacturer training an advantage)
* Knowledge of specialist or light commercial vehicles (e.g., vans, pick‑ups, motorhomes, or performance vehicles)
* Additional manufacturer‑specific training or accreditations
