We are looking for an enthusiastic qualified Registered Nurse who would like the opportunity to specialise in an exciting career in Cardiac Unit at Chorley Hospital. Cardiology experience would be an advantage but not essential. You will join a supportive multidisciplinary team comprising of cardiologists, nurses and healthcare assistants.
We currently provide excellent care for patients within a 10 bedded cardiology unit.
We are committed to building on your existing skills and knowledge and welcome the opportunity to support your development. Full support will be given through appraisal and study time. You will gain experience in caring for cardiology patients with a range a conditions. You will also gain experience of cardiology procedures such as Cardioversion and TOE's.
Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills are essential.
Our services is a 7 day a week 24 hour service. You will need to be flexible to meet the needs of the service and be able to work a range of shifts including nights and weekends.
Main duties of the job
Your role will be to support the Unit Manager, to ensure the provision of excellent care and compassion to all patients and visitors to the department. You will ensure that a high standard of nursing care is delivered by yourself and others based on assessment, planning implementation and evaluation.
You will admit, care for and discharge patients within the Cardiac Unit.
You will care for patients on the Cardiac unit and support will be given by a Senior cardiology nurse.
You will support the Matron and Unit Manager in maintaining our high standards of cleanliness and infection control.

Qualifications & Education
Essential criteria
1. Appropriate NMC registration
2. Diploma in Nursing
3. NMC recognised mentorship qualification or willingness to work towards 18 months commencement in post
4. Evidence of continuing education or development

6. Willing to expand clinical role e.g. IV additives, venepuncture and cannulation
7. Awareness of changes within Nursing practice
