About the role
This position offers exposure to international finance operations supporting subsidiaries in multiple regions. It involves core accounting tasks, process improvements, and strategic financial reporting, ideal for someone eager to manage global financial workflows in a complex, multi-entity environment.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Preparing monthly Management Accounts for subsidiaries in the UK, USA, Germany, China, Australia, Poland, India, and Spain.
* Performing month-end tasks such as revenue recognition, cost of sales calculations, accruals, prepayments, and maintaining the fixed asset register.
* Conducting balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
* Revaluating debtors, creditors, and bank accounts.
* Handling intercompany reconciliations.
* Analyzing financial results and preparing commentary for management and external reporting.
* Improving files, systems, and processes through project work.
* Managing VAT/GST returns and other local tax submissions to meet deadlines.
* Collaborating with local accountants to align subsidiary account balances.
* Supporting the preparation and filing of statutory accounts per IFRS/local GAAP.
* Assisting with year-end duties and audits.
* Overseeing accounts receivable for two subsidiaries.
* Performing other duties as assigned by the Finance Manager, Group Financial Controller, or Finance Director.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Over 5 years in an accounting environment, with IFRS and UK GAAP knowledge.
* Qualified Accountant.
* International experience.
* Strong academic background.
* Month-end experience including prepayments, accruals, and revenue recognition.
* Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
* Proficiency in Excel (Vlookups, PivotTables, Sumifs).
* Ability to meet strict deadlines.
* Independent problem-solving skills.
* Solid understanding of accounts payable principles and VAT.
* Proven ability to manage financial figures and records.
* Effective communication skills across all organizational levels.
Desirable Skills & Experience
* Experience leading teams and managing junior staff.
* Familiarity with Sage 200, Credit Hound, TM1 - Apliqo, Paperless, and WebExpenses.
* Fluency in Polish, French, or German.
* Audit experience from a Big 4 or mid-tier firm.
