Mechanical Site Service Engineer
Base: West Midlands (with UK-wide travel)
Salary: (£29,000–£33,000 equivalent) + overtime + expenses + benefits
Hours: 40 hours per week

Are you a mechanically minded engineer who enjoys practical, varied work and the challenge of on-site assembly and installation?
We’re working with a leading UK manufacturer of bespoke building services equipment, looking for a Mechanical Site Service Engineer to join their growing on-site installation and maintenance team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work on complex, high-quality mechanical systems for major commercial and industrial clients across the UK.
The role
You’ll play a key part in assembling, installing, and maintaining large-scale mechanical units on customer sites, working as part of a skilled multi-disciplinary team.
Your duties will include:
Assembling and installing bespoke mechanical systems on customer sites across the UK.
Reading and working from CAD drawings to fit compartments, gaskets, motors, pumps, and ventilation components.
Testing and inspecting completed installations, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
Troubleshooting and refurbishing units, replacing fans, coils, motors, and other mechanical components.
Working closely with Electrical Engineers to coordinate installations and timelines.
Liaising professionally with clients and contractors, ensuring smooth project delivery.
Travelling nationally, including overnight stays (all paid and expensed).
Supporting factory assembly and testing when site work is not available.
What we’re looking for
We’re seeking someone practical, flexible, and detail-oriented who enjoys hands-on work and problem-solving.
Essential:
Previous experience in mechanical assembly, installation, or site service roles.
Proficiency in using hand tools and interpreting CAD drawings.
Strong focus on quality, safety, and teamwork.
Willingness to travel and stay overnight across the UK.
Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
CSCS card.
NVQ or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience with complex mechanical assemblies or air handling units.
