We are looking for a Short Term Trading Intern to join out Energy Markets Team. This role pays a salary of £23,000 along with a market leading benefits package.
Short Term Trading Intern
Here's what you'll be doing
We are E.ON and we're leading the energy transition. Providing smart, sustainable and personalised solutions for customers at home, in business and across entire towns and cities.
We make sure everything we do is focused on our customers, helping them with the major changes that are happening today and creating a new energy world that is decentralised, green, and interconnected. We've been a driving force behind the UK's renewable revolution for more than 25 years and, as the UK's largest electricity supplier, we provide all our customers' homes with electricity backed by 100% renewable sources as standard and at no extra cost.
1. Within our Short Term power and gas trading team we need to analyse a wealth of data to inform trading decisions.
2. Working with us for your placement could see you applying your data skills to a performance analysis of the various wind forecasts that are available and making commercial recommendations on the back of this.
3. This would entail comparing forecasted to actual wind generation in a detailed and granular way so that the trading team are best informed as to which forecasts perform best and in what circumstances.
4. Equally, we have a variety of other analysis projects available and we’d be happy to design something that mutually suits both our and the candidate’s interests.
5. In exchange we offer a fascinating environment where you’ll be made to feel part of the team from day one, and where you can really contribute.
What we need from you
6. Currently studying towards a degree (any level) in a numerate discipline
7. The skills and passion for using and analysing data to provide commercial insight
8. Curiosity and a desire to understand how and why things work
9. Comfortable working independently to set goals and objectives
Here's what else you need to know
10. Flexible working arrangement (anything between 10 and 37 hours a week)
11. Flexible contract length to fit your studies (with a minimum commitment of 2 months), with flexible start and end date
12. £23,000 pro rata salary
13. Hybrid working model (with a minimum of 40% in our Coventry office)
14. Guidance and supervision as and when it's needed
15. To learn about an ever evolving and developing industry
16. In the event of an overwhelming number of applications, we reserve the right to close the application process earlier than initially stated.
17. Interviews will begin week commencing 18th March 2024
E.ON is committed to equal opportunities and actively promotes diversity, equality and flexibility.
