Looking for an Automation Engineer deployed to an OEM client:
Role Overview
The role is multidisciplinary, involving working on-cycle and off-cycle programmes. The engineer will primarily develop code while collaborating closely with Development engineers, analysts, and model builders.
Responsibilities
1. The collection and compilation of Non-Geometric Data by working with internal customers.
2. The collection and compilation of Geometric Data using in-house CAD Software to assist in building virtual models.
3. Understanding Virtual Factory floors to identify automation opportunities and develop KPIs.
4. Determining automation and optimization requirements, developing code, metrics, and targets.
5. Coding/programming to automate manual efforts, reducing time and improving quality.
6. Supporting methods reviews and contributing ideas.
7. Developing and delivering new process training materials.
8. Performing any other tasks assigned by the line manager related to the job.
9. Creating user guides and manuals to train CAE team members.
Skills: Essential
* Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, VB, Java, Simulink, Matlab, etc.
* Good understanding of CAD software, particularly 3DX CATIA.
* Strong MS Excel skills.
* Ability to adapt to and understand new technological areas.
* Effective communication skills.
Desirable Skills
* Understanding of propulsion systems.
* Knowledge of materials and their properties.
* Awareness of EDU, Batteries, HV charging systems, Electrical, Mechanical aspects.
* Knowledge of Machine Learning, AI, etc.
