Job Description

About the Role

Hybrid role in Manchester Salary from £30,000 depending on experience

We’re looking for an experienced Website Designer who thrives on turning ideas and content into striking, user-friendly web experiences.

This role is ideal for someone with agency experience, a strong grasp of design principles, and great experience designing websites that not only look great but also drive engagement and conversions.

Our aim is to design websites that are the best in their sector.

As part of our growing agency, you’ll work closely with marketers, developers, and content specialists to deliver high-quality, conversion-focused website designs for B2B clients. You’ll have creative freedom while ensuring all designs align with client goals, brand identity, and best practices in web design.

Key Responsibilities

* Website Design & Conceptualisation: Transform client goals, written content, and brand guidelines into creative web design concepts and wireframes.
* UI & Prototyping: Use Figma to create wireframes, interactive prototypes, and responsive web designs for desktop and mobile.
* Content Layout & Structure: Design page layouts that support clear messaging, strong user journeys, and optimal conversion paths.
* Branding & Visuals: Ensure all website designs follow brand guidelines where applicable, incorporating typography, colour schemes, and imagery to enhance user experience.
* Amendments & Iteration: Manage design updates based on feedback, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with best practices.
* Stakeholder Presentation: Present design solutions to internal teams and client stakeholders, explaining design choices with clarity.
* Collaboration & Organisation: Work closely with developers and content writers to ensure seamless implementation of designs.
* Market & Trend Awareness: Keep up to date with the latest web design trends, UI best practices, and industry advancements.

About You

* Agency Experience: At least 2 years in a digital agency environment, designing websites that deliver real business results.
* Client focus: Experience designing websites and digital platforms for medium to large businesses and working with experienced client marketing teams.
* Figma Proficiency: Strong skills in Figma for wireframing, prototyping, and final website designs.
* Adobe Suite Know-How: Competent in Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop to create supporting assets.
* UX/UI Knowledge: Understanding of user experience design principles and how they apply to B2B websites.
* Organised & Reliable: Able to juggle multiple projects, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
* Communicative & Collaborative: Confident in articulating design choices to clients and working alongside developers, marketers, and content teams.
* Curious & Open-Minded: Open to feedback and committed to continuous learning in digital design.
* Deadline-Driven: Can work under pressure without compromising quality.

PLEASE NOTE IF YOU ARE PRIMARILY A DVELOPER THIS IS NOT THE JOB FOR YOU. WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO IS FOCUSED ON DEVELOPING THEIR CAREER IN DESIGN.

Bonus Skills:

* Experience designing websites for HubSpot CMS is a definite plus but not essential.
* Knowledge of HTML & CSS to better understand development constraints.

Why Join Us?

* Creative Freedom: Shape digital experiences and contribute to innovative projects.
* Shape your career: Our culture encourages people to experiment and try new things, to shape their own role and build a career path that works for them.
* Company and team bonus: On top of your salary
* Rapid progression: Regular progress and salary reviews with the opportunity to develop quickly
* Annual training budget, personalised development plans, in-house, HubSpot and external training to help you develop your career.
* Hybrid working: Three days in the office based in Manchester’s Northern Quarter.
* Social responsibility: A commitment for our business to play its part in the community with extra days off for volunteering and community work
* Health: Cycle to work scheme with access to mental health and wellbeing support, including counselling, through the BUPA Employee Assistance Programme.
* Work/life balance: 22 days holiday plus your birthday in the first year, increasing by 1 day per year and rising to 27 days (plus bank holidays).
* Our culture encourages people to experiment and try new things, to shape their own role and build a career path that works for them.
