The City of Doncaster Council puts improving the life of its residents at the centre of everything we do. We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with a passion for improving public health and wellbeing to join our Get Doncaster Moving (GDM) team. Get Doncaster Moving is our whole systems approach to tackling inactivity. We are testing innovative, evidence-based solutions by working in close partnership with Sport England, to reduce physical inactivity levels in Doncaster. The GDM team currently lead on a range of themed work areas, such as (but not limited to) Active Communities, Parks and Open Spaces, Active Travel, Children and Young People and Community Sport. Our iterative and flexible approach allows us to respond quickly to new and emerging opportunities, meaning that the scope of our work adapts to what is required. Covering the full communications and marketing mix, you will help design and deliver communications and marketing materials specific to Get Doncaster Moving’s agenda. This will include communicating with both residents and GDM’s Network of partner organisations, in a number of sectors. Supporting the Strategic Communications Lead, you will be involved in a number of interesting projects from helping to develop our partner communication channels, as well as writing for our website, social media channels and supporting the wider GDM team with communication requirements, such as Doncaster Future Parks’ engagement work with local residents.
