We now have an exciting opportunity to join our Operations Procurement team, as a Buyer based at The NEC offices in the heart of the country, you can launch your career in this fast paced industry. Our Operations Procurement Department is responsible for providing pro-active procurement support to stakeholders in relation to the process for sourcing of all indirect services with a focus on IT, Heavy Equipment and Building Works commodities to ensure that best value is achieved. Key Responsibilities: To advise business users at all levels on the most appropriate purchasing strategy to be adopted when sourcing goods and services. Reviewing and negotiating contract terms. Supplier partnerships and relationship management. Review commodity spend with stakeholders on a quarterly basis identifying opportunities to leverage spend. Authorising new supplier set ups and managing level of risk to the company. Performing due diligence checks on suppliers. Skills and Experience: Minimum 4 years relevant purchasing experience within indirect commodities. Excellent interpersonal skills to operate at all organisational levels. Good negotiator particularly in price and contract negotiation. Team player working within cross functional teams. A background in building strong supplier relationships. Experience of cost reduction and income generation through negotiation. Strong commercial knowledge and excellent excel skills. Passion, energy, drive and commitment.
