We are seeking a committed Behaviour Support Assistant to support pupils with challenging behaviour within a school setting. The role involves working closely with teachers, SEN staff and pastoral teams to implement effective behaviour strategies and promote a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with behavioural needs.
Implement behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques.
Support pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
Work collaboratively with teachers and SENCOs to develop and review individual behaviour plans.
Encourage positive behaviour, engagement and emotional regulation.
Act as a positive role model, promoting resilience and emotional wellbeing.
Liaise with parents, carers and external agencies when required.
Requirements:
Experience working with challenging behaviour, SEMH or SEN pupils.
Strong behaviour management skills with a proactive approach.
Ability to build positive, professional relationships with pupils and staff.
Previous experience in a school setting (preferred but not essential).
Training in Team Teach, MAPA or other de-escalation techniques (desirable).
