Overall Purpose of the Role

To enhance the customer experience and reputation of PPP by effectively managing the Hard Services Team, equipment, resources and third‑party suppliers, ensuring the FM operation complies with the client service level agreement and company standards & procedures.


Responsibilities

* Promote a safety culture and ensure the Hard Services Team & subcontractors operate in accordance with company and client Health, Safety & Environmental procedures at all times.
* Ensure the delivery and quality of the Hard Services operation meets the client service level agreement, company procedures & external accreditation such as ISO.
* Be responsible for delivering the Hard Services labour, equipment & resources budget for the contract in line with or exceeding company targets.
* Deputise for the Contract Manager as required.
* Keep Compass Service Framework policies, procedures and controlled documents up to date and implemented correctly in your area, including HSE & One Best Way service procedures and address any procedural gaps.
* Engage and manage all teams effectively to achieve performance targets and deliver the PPP Management promises.
* Ensure the right number of people, trained to the appropriate skill level, are in place to deliver the required Hard Services service and maintain a training & succession plan.
* Manage & analyse CAFM system data to optimise FM operation efficiency.
* Produce client reports and liaise with the client to seek opportunities to develop and improve the Hard Services offer, benefiting all stakeholders and enhancing the reputation of the PPP FM service.
* Control & govern any third‑party suppliers or contractors, ensuring they meet or exceed agreed service level agreements.
* Continuously improve the Hard Services operation in all areas: Quality, Cost, Delivery & Safety.
* Work flexibly and attend off‑site meetings, training courses & networking events as required.
* Carry out full tests and inspections of electrical systems and fixed installation equipment, complete minor repairs and installations, and carry out servicing.
* Respond to emergency breakdowns at multiple schools and buildings in the local area.
* Role model the PPP behaviours at all times to colleagues, customers & clients.


Qualifications

* Experience managing reactive and planned maintenance.
* Problem‑solving and fault‑finding ability.
* Experience with electrical systems, testing and installation.
* Line management of direct engineers and collaboration with subcontractors to deliver services.
* Attention to detail and understanding of technical data/engineering reports.
* Knowledge of statutory compliance and adherence to safety processes.
* Experience planning and scheduling complex maintenance projects efficiently.
* Experience using CAFM systems (Concept, Maximo, Topdesk, etc.).
* Computer literate – MS Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
* NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma in Health & Safety or willing to pursue one.
* Previous experience as a duty holder (AP or RP).
* City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1 & 2 or equivalent.
* City & Guilds 2391/2394 & 2395 or equivalent.
* Level 2 & 3 Technical Certificates with relevant NVQ Level 3.
* Enhanced DBS Check (Carried out by Employer).
