Holy Trinity, North Ormesby is a welcoming, busy and vibrant church with a diverse and growing congregation including an ever-increasing number of children and young people. The church acts as a beacon of God’s light and love to the neighbourhood which is among the most deprived in the country.
At Holy Trinity, we value worship which is rooted, accessible and community minded. Our rhythm brings together tradition and creativity and includes a monthly breakfast church. Within our congregation and parish, there are a range of nationalities represented who are all valued members of our church family.
Deeply outward looking in our mission, our lay Community Ministers offer pastoral care and we enjoy a fruitful relationship with North Ormesby Primary Academy. The role of the parish priest also oversees the Trinity Youth & Children’s Project serving children, young people and families in North Ormesby where 46% of children are born into poverty.
Our distinctive church clock tower is a much-loved visible presence and part of the former church (which burnt down some years ago in an arson attack), the remains of which provide a beautiful cloistered garden and haven of peace. The modern church building is a neat, flexible and intimate worship space. Our award-winning Trinity Centre, offers a unique community facility hosting our community café, a foodbank and much more; it brings in hundreds of people each week and is known as the ‘heart of our community’.
We are praying for a Priest in Charge who will lead with faith, vision, and joy. We are a warm and welcoming church community and looking for someone who is:
* proactive and accessible, who will walk alongside us as we grow in faith
* forward-thinking and a natural communicator with all ages and backgrounds
* hospitable and values presence, welcome and listening
* an enabling leader – confident in guiding and empowering others
* adaptable – ready to respond creatively to change and challenge
* a team builder – committed to collaboration and shared leadership
* happy and cheerful – someone who brings joy, laughter, and positivity to ministry
* inclusive – openhearted and embracing diversity in all its forms
* proactive – not waiting for things to happen
If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you!
