We are excited to be working with a rapidly growing engineering company based in Suffolk specialising within the automotive, motorsport and marine sectors creating advanced wiring systems. They are led by some highly experienced minds within the motorsports industry with decades worth of industry experience.

About this Wiring Technician Role

This is a hands-on position where you will be directly involved in the build, assembly, and inspection of bespoke electrical wiring harnesses for cars and boats. You will lead on complex builds, support prototype development, and mentor junior technicians, all while ensuring every harness meets the highest motorsport and marine quality standards.

What is expected of you as a Wiring Technician?

6. Extensive hands-on experience building electrical harnesses in motorsport, aerospace or marine environments.
7. Proficiency with System 25
8. Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and schematics
9. Experience with electrical testing equipment/software
10. Strong knowledge of wiring, crimping, connector assembly, and harness routing best practices
11. Exceptional attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
12. Able to work independently and as part of a high-performing team

Key Responsibilities

13. Build and assemble low-volume and prototype wiring harnesses to exacting motorsport/automotive standards
14. Lead complex or first-time builds and assist with prototype development
15. Support the day-to-day operations of the harness workshop
16. Pick and prepare line-side stock parts for harness builds
17. Identify and report build issues, deviations, or process improvements
18. Mentor and support junior and trainee technicians
19. Carry out quality inspections to ensure harness conformity
20. Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment
21. Follow company procedures, quality control standards, and health & safety requirements
22. Contribute flexibly to meet production deadlines
23. Participate in training to further develop skills and build quality
