Senior Estimator / Quantity Surveyor – Shopfitting
My client is a Midlands based shopfitting & interiors fit out company looking to recruit an experienced Estimator/QS to join their Commercial Department.
Key Responsibilities
* Report to Directors on estimating/QS function in an agreed format.
* Develop and maintain accounts with existing and new clients in liaison with Directors.
* Analyse job appraisals to determine estimating standards; report variances.
* Establish and maintain working relationships with contracts team, site agents, sub‑contractors.
* Manage the QS function; provide advice and support pre‑contract and post‑contract.
* Monitor project costs from pre‑contract to final account agreement.
* Review contract law and risk on framework agreements; provide feedback to Directors.
* Analyse tenders and job specifications; calculate final cost figures; negotiate with sub‑contract trades.
* Refine specifications to improve production, lower costs, and meet job requirements.
* Produce accurate tender analysis for joinery/production elements.
* Award orders with purchasing manager based on time, price, quality.
* Survey sites to ensure familiarity with work and environment.
* Produce all cost information, sub‑contract quotations, labour analysis for handover to Contracts Manager.
Requirements
* Proven estimating experience in shopfitting/fit‑out industry.
* Numerical skills for calculating and analysis.
* Forward planning ability.
* Construction industry trade experience and understanding.
* Excellent written and spoken communication; ability to influence all levels.
* UK full leave to remain; sponsorship not available.
* Suitable candidate will receive a competitive remuneration package.
