Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the Group Tax Manager will drive the management of the company’s tax affairs globally covering the UK, APAC, EMEA, and North/South America. This role will work with finance and non-finance teams with support from external tax advisors to implement tax planning and compliance considering the future strategy of the group, group tax policy, and local regulations.

This role will play an integral part in scaling the tax processes and procedures of a fast-growth business. This is an opportunity to make an impact as a qualified tax accountant who thrives on finance change and projects and be responsible for providing best-in-class tax planning, reporting, and compliance through the group companies.

Duties
1. Lead the group’s international tax strategy to support the expansion of a fast-growing business
2. Work closely with the finance, sales, legal, and other teams to ensure that tax implications and risks of business activities are understood and controlled
3. Develop tax policies and procedures and own the implementation across the group
4. Be the key contact for UK and international tax authorities and auditors
5. Support the assessment and maintenance of group transfer pricing policy and ensure it is fit for purpose for all locations globally and documentation is maintained and kept up to date
6. Own the annual corporation tax reporting and tax returns, as well as monthly or quarterly indirect tax reporting with support from accounting teams
7. Support the Group Financial Controller in reviewing the group tax position, group structure, and implementing actions to manage tax risks
8. Support or lead ad hoc projects as the team and business expand internationally

Requirements

Essential

* Ability to apply tax knowledge and skills into a commercial environment
* Proven experience in UK and international tax for a sizeable group along with a strong tax background from training in practice
* Qualified tax accountant with solid understanding of financial controls and best practices
* Excellent communication skills. Ability to articulate tax matters to finance and non-finance teams
* Driven and able to balance multiple priorities
* Thrives on and excited about finance and business changes and its related tax impact

Desirable

* Proven experience working within a group environment
* Industry experience (technology company with long-term contracts)
* Listed company experience
