Recent investment in the special school nursing provision in our service has created several opportunities for Children's Nurses or Learning Disability Nurses.
We are looking for an experienced nurse who has a passion for working with children with complex health needs and supporting them to access their education. This post is particularly attractive to someone who requires a flexible working arrangement and would like to work term‑time only.
The role is a valuable opportunity to be part of an experienced team, to develop your professional expertise and make a difference where it matters. This post offers excellent opportunities to care for children with a wide range of physical / learning disabilities who have complex physical health needs and attend five special schools in Coventry. We are looking for an enthusiastic nurse with excellent organisational, personal and clinical skills. A good working knowledge of SEND and safeguarding are also key. The post will involve training and supporting carers.
Key responsibilities
* Provide nursing support to children with complex health needs attending special schools.
* Train and support carers to deliver ongoing care.
* Ensure effective communication with the multi‑disciplinary team to facilitate children’s education.
* Safeguard children and promote inclusive learning environments.
* Participate in continuous professional development and quality improvement activities.
Qualifications
* Registered nurse with experience in paediatric or learning disability nursing.
* Working knowledge of SEND and safeguarding.
* Strong organisational, personal and clinical skills.
