Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Since our formation in the year 2000, Alba Ultrasound has built an exceptional international reputation at the forefront of the underwater sonar industry, based on a proven track record of innovative design. From our modern facility in Glasgow, we design and manufacture bespoke ultrasonic array transducers for both commercial and defence markets.
Recently we have seen significant growth in the area of underwater mine detection and classification sonars, as the world adapts to this global emerging threat. As a result of this, allied with increased activity in the underwater sector in general, our order book is full and growing.
For these reasons, we are seeking an experienced mechanical design engineer to work within a small multidisciplinary design group. This group collaborates closely with our clients, requiring creative mechanical design solutions. Your key area of responsibility is the creation of accurate Solidworks 3-D CAD designs, to meet the requirements of the customer. However, you will be responsible for the mechanical aspects of the full product lifecycle, from initial concept through to manufacture and validation.
