The Cornwall Children's Community Speech and Language Therapy service offers an opportunity for a Speech and Language Therapist to join the Central locality team. This is a perfect role for someone looking to relocate to Cornwall or to start a career in a friendly and established service.
This post is suitable for a newly qualified therapist and we are happy to take applications from therapists in the final stages of finishing their degree.

Main duties of the job
You will hold a 0-18 years old mixed community caseload and offer support in education settings, through home visits and clinic appointments in our central locality team, particularly around the St Austell Area. The service offers both assessment and intervention, in addition to consultation and training.
The post holder will work with a communication caseload; however we would also consider a mixed communication and dysphagia caseload for any applicants with existing competencies or the opportunity to start dysphagia competencies in the future.

* has experience working with a range of clinical needs either through previous roles or on student placements
* enjoys working as part of a supportive and friendly team
* is enthusiastic about working with children
Person Specification
Educational
* Degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent qualification).
* Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
* Membership of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists
Experience
* Undergraduate paediatric clinical experience in a range of settings
Knowledge and Abilities
* To be able to deal with a range of clinical issues, have knowledge of differential diagnosis re SLT and formulate appropriate strategies for caseload management.
* Knowledge of assessment tools and appropriate therapeutic interventions relevant for use with children
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
Salary: £32,073 to £39,043 a year (Pro Rata).
