1:1 Tutor Opportunity – Supporting Students Outside Mainstream Classrooms

Position: 1:1 Tutor (Multiple Subjects)
Are you passionate about making a real difference to young people who find mainstream classroom environments challenging? We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 Tutor to work with students who require personalised learning support across a range of subjects.
This is a rewarding opportunity to help children build confidence, re-engage with learning, and develop the skills they need to succeed, either in a school setting or through alternative education pathways.
Your Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver tailored 1:1 tuition to students across core subjects such as English, Maths, and Science (additional subjects as required)
* Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs and overcome barriers to learning
* Create a supportive, safe, and nurturing learning environment that encourages engagement and progress
* Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to parents, carers, and school staff where appropriate
* Develop positive relationships that promote confidence, resilience, and improved behaviour
* Work collaboratively with schools, SENCOs, and other professionals involved in the student’s care and education
What We’re Looking For in a 1:1 Tutor:
* QTS/QTLS or relevant teaching/tutoring experience (unqualified but experienced tutors will also be considered)
* Experience working with children with SEND, SEMH needs, or those who are disengaged from education
* A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to teaching and behaviour management
* The ability to differentiate lessons to suit a range of abilities and learning styles
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* A valid enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
